Regular check-ups in Amsterdam

Regular check-ups are essential for maintaining healthy teeth. By visiting the dentist twice a year, we can detect cavities, gum problems and other abnormalities in time. During your check-up, we will carefully assess the health of your teeth and gums, and take X-rays if necessary. This helps to keep your teeth strong and healthy and prevents unexpected problems.

What does the dentist do during a routine check-up?

They carefully assess the health of your teeth. Detecting problems early on can help to prevent issues and keep your mouth healthy. The dentist will pay particular attention to the following:

  • The condition of your teeth and gums.
  • Early cavities and wear on the enamel.
  • Accumulation of plaque and tartar;
  • Signs of gum inflammation or periodontitis;
  • The position and alignment of your teeth;
  • Any abnormalities that are more clearly visible on X-rays.

How often are regular check-ups necessary?

We recommend that most patients come in twice a year for a check-up. This enables us to detect cavities, gum problems and other abnormalities early on and treat them promptly. Sometimes, however, more frequent check-ups are necessary, for example in cases of sensitive teeth, recurring gum inflammation or an increased risk of cavities. We will work with you to determine the check-up schedule that best suits your needs.
